Hello 2019, Goodbye 2018

I lost some weight and I gained some weight. I ended the year a pound under where I was this time last year. That, my friends, is a win. Especially considering some of the health problems I’ve dealt with over the past year. I’m getting a couple of those fixed in the next few days so YAY!

I traveled. I went all over the place. I finally conquered my Eleanor and made it to Rome. I absolutely loved it. The food was sooooooo good. I might go back for a day or two on the way to somewhere else in Italy. 2018 also saw me visit Cartagena, Houston, Denver, Munich, Salzburg, Atlanta, Los Angeles… and a few more places I can’t remember.

I liked and I loved. And as much as I say I’m never doing that again, I’ll do it again in 2019.

I’m really amazing at being an aunt. Like, totally. At least I think so. And seeing as my nieces won’t disagree (because they’re too young to), its pretty much official.

I lost and I found. I lost my favorite Aunt at the beginning of the year. I didn’t think it would feel this terrible almost a year later. I keep waiting for the sadness/emptiness to just go away but it pops up when I least expect it. I saw a post this year that said that grief was the price we pay to love someone. I don’t think I’ve seen truer words. I caught up with a few old friends and even made a few new ones. And seeing as I don’t like people too much, that was a pleasant surprise.

I have a few regrets but nothing life changing. Would I go back and fix a few things? Sure. But nothing that I lose sleep over. Nothing that makes me think the year would have been completely different had I done something different.

All in all, I don’t have any major resolutions for the next year. Travel. Eat good food. Laugh A LOT. Visit friends and family as often as possible. Get ready for Australia in 2020. Pretty much take it a day at a time and enjoy the life I have. As I get older (I’m old y’all) I realize that time moves with or without you. I just don’t wanna get left too far behind.

Goodbye 2018. Hello 2019.
